Children and Youth

If you’ve got kids, we’re especially glad you are here! At St. Luke’s, we help children and youth of the parish, ages 3 to 18, learn about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Scripture, and the history and liturgy of the Episcopal Church. They will experience how these teachings can be part of and guide them in their daily lives and have a fun time doing it!

An unattended nursery, with cribs, changing tables and rocking chairs is available for your use if needed. Classes for all ages are offered on the second floor of the building, accessed by a stairway in the back hallway near the parking lot door. Students join their families in the Nave for Holy Communion. All our teachers, including volunteers, are trained in the Diocesan program of Safeguarding God's Children, and our classrooms are secure from any outside influences. Contact Faith Formation Minister Gordy Tucker for more information.

Godly Play - Ages 3-10

Designed for children ages 3 to 10, this spiritually transformative experience supports, challenges, nourishes, and helps guide children in their spiritual quest. It is a Sunday morning opportunity for them to build their language and imagination around the foundations of the Christian Faith. Music, creative play, and sharing make the lessons come alive.

Along with Faith Formation Minister Gordy Tucker, trained parishioners help facilitate the program.

  • A Door Person greets the children at the entrance of the Sacred Space and Atrium and invites them to cross the threshold and experience the mystery of God’s presence in a small chapel that includes an altar.

  • The Storyteller engages the children with the lesson that has been intentionally selected, in keeping with the liturgical calendar.

  • The Music Minister leads the children in songs that complement the story. The Storyteller, Doorperson, and Music Minister all provide a welcoming and nurturing environment for St. Luke’s youngest Christians.

Upper Room
Middle & High School

St. Luke’s is passionate about helping the youth of the parish enhance their faith and enlighten their understanding of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, gaining support and hope as they move toward adulthood. Young people of Middle School and High School ages meet in a comfortable, inviting, and safe space. The program uses curricula that inspire and engage these emerging adults.
