OUR STORY

Nestled in the charming, historic East Denver neighborhood of Montclair, St. Luke’s is a loving, welcoming faith community that has served generations of parishioners and long been a beacon of inspiration, support and stability for residents of the immediate area, the city and beyond. What began as a chapel for an Episcopal boys’ school in 1890 was formally consecrated as a member parish of the Episcopal Diocese in Colorado in 1910. The original, imposing building, which houses a sanctuary illuminated with a stunning array of stained-glass windows, was designated a landmark by the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission in 1975. The attached Parish Hall, offices and classrooms, added over several decades and surrounding a courtyard and columbarium, serve as a hub for activity, fellowship and learning.

134 Years and Still Going Strong!

But the essence of St. Luke’s lies inside the walls and in the hearts of the parishioners who call this their spiritual home, where all are welcome. It is here, in the safe, joyful and generous parish we cherish, that we strive to deepen our relationship to God and one another as we search for relevance and meaning in our everyday lives.

Our worship is rooted in tradition. Our ministries are varied and strive to reach all generations and those in need. We seek to connect with and encourage all to join us in our life-changing journey of faith and service to God.

  • We enjoy rich, uplifting worship services enhanced with vibrant music.

  • We partake in a variety of ministries that bring us together in service to our church and to God.

  • We are nourished with a breadth of adult and youth Christian formation opportunities.

  • We pray together.

  • We break bread together.

  • We celebrate each other’s joys, grieve for each other in times of tragedy and sorrow and uplift each other through times of hardship.

  • We impact the surrounding community through robust and ongoing outreach efforts, including food, clothing and school supply donations, advocacy on behalf of mental health and people needing shelter, and support of animal welfare agencies, to name just a few.

This is Who We Are

Some of us have multi-generational connections to this church. Others have been here a few years; some just a few weeks or months. And whether we attend church each Sunday, once a month, once a quarter, Christmas and Easter only, participate in Bible study, or join Christian education forums, St. Luke’s is always here for us.

Whether you are a seeker, a transplant or a cradle Episcopalian, no matter where you are in your faith journey, we welcome you to our fellowship and to join us in communion. Come just as you are…we’d love to get to know you better!
