Outreach at St. Luke’s
Outreach at St. Luke’s is a year-round, far-reaching, and dynamic ministry that reflects the generosity and commitment of our parish to make a difference in our community and the world, as expressed in our Outreach Mission Statement:
Our mission is to be the hands of Christ in our local
community by volunteering, fundraising, and providing
financial support to organizations that serve people
experiencing mental health issues, homelessness, and
poverty. Through our actions, we seek to partner and
build relationships between St. Luke’s and the community.
Through our support of and partnership with multiple non-profit organizations throughout the metro area, we help feed, clothe, and support people who need help in a variety of ways as we connect with God and one another. The Outreach ministry is one of the most visible in our parish, and parishioners are always encouraged to join. For more information or to get involved contact our Outreach Chair.

Outreach Opportunities at St. Luke’s
This year, St. Luke’s launched a Mental health Initiative to better understand mental illness and its impact on individuals, families and various segments of our society, including youth, the elderly, those experiencing homelessness, and those within the criminal justice system.
Each May, the St. Luke’s Stompers participate in NAMI Walks Colorado, an event sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, joining the team in fundraising, walking, or making a monetary contribution. This year, our team raised more than $3,200 to help further the important work of raising awareness and stomping out the stigma surrounding mental illness.
St. Luke’s also maintains ongoing and robust relationships with several other local organizations through volunteer support and donations of food, clothing, school supplies and backpacks, personal items and pet food and supplies. The first Saturday of each month, parishioners volunteer at St. Francis Center, a downtown Denver refuge for people experiencing homelessness.
Loaves & Fishes Sunday at the end of July, the Mom’s Christmas Stocking Drive for victims of domestic violence, a Lenten Sock Drive, and Blessing of the Animals in recognition of St. Francis of Assisi in October, are among the “Seasons of Giving” that receive strong support and participation as we seek new opportunities to expand outreach involvement for all ages through volunteer activities.
