As a docent at the Denver Zoo in the early ‘90s, Mary’s favorite experience was showing a group of preschoolers a dry lima bean to explain how tiny a joey is when it is born and climbs into Mama's pouch, and then giving each kiddo a lima bean prop to “name.” Animals are a passion for Mary, and one of her favorite events at St. Luke's is the Blessing of the Animals. Her email tagline is, "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake.
